What is the new look and why was it so shocking after the war in 1950s..?/ Haute Couture....

Christian Diors:

In the decade 1945s the world war had just come to an end and then 2 years later came in Christian Dior’s with his ideas in the year 1947s for example in the article is says “in February 1947 Christian Dior brought fashion back with a fanfare when he unveiled his new season of clothes that were a world away from wartime austerity".

The reason why there were a lot of people who were shocked was because he would waist money and also fabric because in them days the people was quite poor and they thought he was just waiting money but then again, the women did start to dress as men for example when they started to work in the factories when there husbands all went to the war, this is when Christian Dior started to make outfits for women to make them look glamorous as well as feeling glamorous  "It became much more norm to wear trousers as your clothes had to be practical if you were working in a factory or on a farm" In this quote it does show that the people would tend to dress more comfortable and the clothes also had to be practical if they wanted to work in a factory or even a farm.

Haute Couture:
- Looking at my primary research i think Haute Couture is a really expensive outfit which the celebrities would tend to wear as they are eight grand each. The colours that are used are bright, bold and strong, which makes them look unique and however you wouldn't tend to wear these clothes on a normal casual day you would either were these to a party. And the celebrities would wear them on a red carpet. The patterns make them look expensive aswell as the fabric and also the small waist.
