Day In The Life Presentation

Party Outfits

This is a mood-board that i have produced on photoshop on this mood-board there is a range of colours such as dark blue, pink, purple, silver, black, gold all these colours stand out in there own ways and they make it look unique. The key style io have gone for is mainly dresses which are either both long/short or flared or evan pencil these dresses make you look elegant. In the image there are also some shoes which are heals that make your dresses stand out and look more classic.

Fashion Collection Flats

This is a fashion piece collection i have done on photoshop. The colours i have used are the ones i have used on my other mood board, on photoshop i cut some of the designs out,The reason being is because i thought of making it look different whereas they looked all the same so on one of the dresses i cut out the arms of it to make it look more unique. The colours i have used are very suttle but there are only 1/2 that are bright such as:Hot pink and Royal blue, these colours make the work look eye catching and quite bright and colourfull however the other colours are carming and they make you feel relaxed.

Passionate Collection

-This is a passionate collection that i have made on polyvore,i have used the same colours that i used on the mood-board such as the red, pink, blue, beige, purple these are the colours that i liked and the ones that look unique.

Portfolio Images

-These are images of the flats that i have produced for my portfolio. These flats are not finsihed as i still need to continue with these. These flats are like design idea`s that show me a few designs of how to design the garment itself, with the different types of sleeves or ETC. ETC.
-This is an image of the illustrations that i have drawn, this is like an image of the way my final design is going to be made. Whilst i was making my final garment new idea`s came to my head so i thought of added different stuff to it, Which made it look alot better, However i didn`t get to make it look exact like that but you can see were they look the same for example how i have designed my garment i have just made some final changes (last minute changes).
-These are the images that i have present on white paper so i could put them in a portfolio and when i go university i have work that i have produced in college so then i can show them.

Party Outfit Statement

Personal Statement:

-The type of party my dress would be worn at is a red carpet event. The reason why I have said my dress would be worn on a Red Carpet Event is because I think the way I have made my dress it make it looks glamorous.

The way my dress would make my party girl look great is if she has Smokey eyes, also light soft nude lipstick to make it look suttle. The hair would look great either left down with soft curls or either tied up in a bun to show off the back patterns of the dress. The way I made my dress was that I made it strapless but there was a strap that would go around the shoulder to make it look more unique as a red carpet outfit.

My dress looks perfect for a party the reason being is because in the Red Carpet they have used long gowns or even long maxi dresses. Which then I thought of making like a long gown to make it go with the 2013 style not so it would look different. I also added a few diamond sequences on the bottom skirt part to make it look more valuable otherwise it would have been a lot more plain, which then it wouldn`t have Looked more like a party outfit.

The fabrics I have used is silk/duchess satin on some part of my dress I have also used a black/silver lace to make it look more satisfying. The colour that I chose was black and silver. On this dress I have also used some silver sequences to make it all match and look more worthy. The reason why I chose all this fabrics and decoration is because I think it all looks good together and it also made it have a good combination; however this dress that I made can also be worn as an evening dress.

The way I would make this garment is by first of all making a pattern so I would know what the shape and size would be of my dress. And then I used the pattern to draw around with a chalk and then would cut it out. For the bottom skirt I would add pleats or I would either gather it to give it that effect. For the pleats at the top of the blouse to give it that shape.

Evaluation...

Clothes Show Live Evaluation….

-For this project the theme that we went for was party outfits. The colour of my dress was black whereas the style of my dress was a long one piece dress with a big belt in the middle.

-My dress was made to look like a long gown; I got inspired by the red carpet 2013 as they have worn long gowns with just a little bit of accessories on it. In the red carpet season the celebrities had worn a lot of bright colours. Whereas some of them had on suttle skin colour gowns. The colour of my dress was black and silver. First of all I had to make a base(toile) so I would get a image of how the blouse on my dress would look, whilst making the toile we had to add pleats in the top and bottom to give it a curve shape on the bust. For the bottom half of the skirt I had to add pleats in the top of it to make it have a puffy look and to make it stand out. I also did some hand stitching on the skirt of the dress to make it look better and not to look plain, I did the same on the back as well so it doesn`t look plain.

-To make this dress I used an industrial machines to stitch the pieces up and join the pieces that needed to be joined up to make it have a finish look. The techniques I used was stitching, hand stitching, pattern cutting.

-The fabrics that I used was silk (Thick silk) and also net the colour I went for was black and silver which the net was black and silver and the silk was full on black. The reason why I went for the colour black was because I thought it looks good for a evening party outfit. However the decorations I had chosen for my dress was silver diamond sequences and a silver belt, I chose these sequences because If I didn`t I have anything decorative on my dress it would look plain which then it wouldn`t look like a party outfit and it wouldn`t match my theme. On my dress I didn`t have any patterns the only patterns I had was on the net which was swirl patterns.

-The way my garment matched my  theme was that it was the red carpet 2013 theme which the celebrities wore long gowns, whereas even I have made a long gown but I is abit different towards the way there`s has been designed.

-To accomplish my project and finish it off I didn`t struggle but when it came to making the dress itself I got abit confused on the zip part and also the way I had to attach my skirt and blouse together. If I ever had to make this garment again I don`t think I would because I like the way I have made it .

Wordle 1950 vs 2013

Which decade would you prefer to live in and why??
-The decade that i would prefer is 2013 the reason being is because i think that it has more women right's,women can now work withought the men having any problems. However in the year 1950s the women wouldn`t be allowed to work and they would have to be housewifes and stay at home and cook and clean for there husbands just to give them pleasure. The fashion has also changed through out the year such as in the year 1950 the women would wear colourfull clothes but there dresses also used to be all flared out,Wheras as in the year 2013 the women would wear colourfull clothes but they rarly would wear dresses that are flared out, nowadays the women tend to wear more comfortable clothes intead of those dresses that would be worn in the 1950s.

1950's

-Fashion was popular in the 1950s there were bright coloured clothes and accessories that became fashionable in the 1950s and the bikini was developed then aswell.1940s fashion and the succeeding Category:1960s fashion.

Fashion
From a fashion point of view, this was the rise of the ‘ready to wear’ phenomenon. Clothing was now being manufactured ‘en mass’ and with greatly improved standards in construction and cloth quality. Variety was now available and imports started to return from, in particular….Paris.
Dior’s iconic ‘New Look’ arrived in Paris in 1947 and due to it’s vastly different shape to the war years – had an enormous impact on the fashion world. Style was now back on track, ironically picking up from where it left off before the pause created by the war. Dior created a succession of silhouettes he based on letter shapes – line A being an a-line silhouette derived from a widening towards the hem and was quickly followed by the Y-line, created by wide dolman sleeves tapering to a slim skirt. However, Dior’s initial look continued to dominate for many years with fashion looking nostalgically to the past with its boned bodices and full petticoats.
